We will be using this move to work on intermediate and advanced pole moves. The Basic Invert can take time to work up to.....using a Reverse Handstand can be a great way to learn the position for inverted tricks without having to perform a basic invert!

kiki Q - hi there so glad i joined! I've been working on reverse handstand and pretty much can do 95% of attempts but challenge is this:
once in position and as i slide down to dismount all the blood rushes to my face and feels like its pushing with force to my head and making face super red and creating little broken blood vessels? (i don't have hi blood pressure) any thoughts? am i not breathing correct or is it a strength issue? perplexed and value any insight thanks so much!!!

kiki Q - ps im concerned with the permanent broken blood vessels on my face its causing...esp. since i doing facials for a living!!
Also my shin and top of foot is one big bruise on top of bruise from practicing...is that a strength or control issue??
thanks again:)

StudioVeena - bruising is normal, it will stop once a move becomes more natural. You will get red in the face when inverting and when straining. The more difficult a move is for you the more you will be straining. The stronger you become the less effort is needed to perform a move so there is less "red face". Exhaling whenever your exerting is very important and continuing to breath while upside down is also important, most new dancers hold their breath. Avoid working on inverted positions over and over in a row until you become stronger.
